Abubot: Artworks from Found Objects

Marahuyo Art Projects | Quezon City, Philippines

About the project

Late last year, Marahuyo Art Projects sent out a call for ABUBOT, a special exhibition of artworks created from found objects—old phonebooks, the cage of an electric fan, CDs, coasters, dice, magnets, anything and everything at all—and materials that would’ve otherwise been discarded or forgotten.

Consistent with the spirit of If Trees Could Talk, the exhibition celebrates creativity, sustainability, and imagination. ABUBOT is both a call for less waste and an inquiry into our increasingly hyper-consumerist world. It is an invitation to reuse and revive what we already have—a reminder that art can come from just about anywhere.
