Wakati mu Miti (Amidst Trees)

Sitoole Ki Murals | Uganda

About the project

This community installation explores the idea that both trees and walls can carry voices and stories. The mural will be created with community input, using local phenomena and simple drawings integrated into meaningful forms and patterns.

“If Trees Could Talk” imagines trees as living witnesses that speak about care, loss, and the future of the environment. “The Talking Walls” turns the wall into a public speaker for community messages about nature, home, and responsibility. Visually, the artwork connects trees with pets and daily life, showing the close relationship between people and places. By giving voice to trees and walls, the mural encourages environmental awareness, shared ownership of public space, and regenerative dialogue between the community and its surroundings.
